The 2023 St. Catherine School Spelling Bee Winners have been named. Luke Sorby, son of Justin and Sara Sorby, and Gray Kasowski, son of Josh and Alison Kasowski, were co-champions as they spelled the same number of words correctly during the competition. The St. Catherine School Spelling Bee is organized
by 5th and 6th grade teacher, Dawn Ihry. Kasowski and Sorby, both 5th grade students will go onto compete at the Barnes County Spelling Bee, February 2nd which will be hosted by Valley City Public Schools and held at the Hi-Liner Activity Center (HAC). They will compete with the top two placers from each of the other schools in Barnes County. This competition is open to grades 5-8. The winner from the Barnes County Spelling Bee, will go onto the State Spelling Bee. Congratulations to these two outstanding students!
